Birdsong Mountaingem is named after the native hummingbird we see here in Northern New Mexico. It is originally from an unknown cross to Ms. Marcotti's, a black bush bean. However, these beans come in a remarkable range of rich colors with both dark and light speckles and bands. It is a vigorous pole bean, so I generally use 5 foot cattle panels for support. However, the vines will outgrow even that. You will harvest huge numbers of the tan pods starting in about 100 days and continuing for some time. 60 seeds per packet.
