Podorak (ribbed stuffing tomato)

Beautiful bright red ruffled pears make a fine stuffing tomato and are excellent sliced in salads as well. They have the dry flesh and empty seed cavities you would expect, but are surprisingly sweet. The compact plants are also quite productive. There would be 3 or 4 ripe at any one time. Compared to Pera de Abruzzo, Podarok has smaller fruit, but more of them. This is a real find and one you should try if you would like to add a bit of variety to your tomato garden. I can only send a limited amount of seed in a packet ~ 20 because it is so difficult to collect.
