  • Paul Robeson was an African-American opera singer who was very popular in Russia and this tomato of Russian origin was named after him. The seed I have came directly from a seed collector there. Even if you have grown this variety before, you should give this strain a try. The plant is a RL indeterminate standing about 5-6 feet tall. It sets a huge number of dark brown beefsteaks about 8-12 ounces in weight with the wonderful flavor you expect in the best black tomatoes. I have not seen the radial cracking on the fruit others have mentioned.
    A packet contains 35-40 seed.
