Wessel's Purple Pride

Wessel's is a a stable cross of Cherokee Purple and Sausage. The fruit is a deep pink/purple, elongated, with a distinct point. The foliage is typical for this type of tomato - rather wispy - but the plant is quite vigorous and sets bunches of these at a time. The flavor is very good, and the variety can be used for fresh eating as well as cooking. This photo shows the fruit at a green stage before ripening.
