Santo Domingo (now Kewa) is one of the pueblos along the Rio Grande and I've seen this corn growing and thriving even in very deep drought. It is only about 3 foot tall with very thick multiple stalks. Generally the kernels are white, but my friend Wil, who worked at the nearby Black Mesa Golf Course, and whom I rode with, gave me some of the rose-capped seed. Most of the surprisingly large, blocky (8") ears will have the pink color, but a few may be white. This is an ancient corn and growing it puts you in touch with some very old traditions. It also makes great chicos and posole! 80 + seeds in a packet will easily plant a 15' by 15' block. This is fresh seed and you will get excellent germination.
No international shipping of this seed.
